Follow the A64 heading towards York
After passing ASDA on your left travel for another 0.5 mile
At the junction / roundabout take the third exit signposted M1 South, Selby A63, Crossgates
After 0.5 mile turn right (third exit) at the roundabout signposted Ring Road A6120, M1 M62 & A1(M), Selby A63
After 0.9 miles turn right, (third exit) signposted Halton and Temple Newsam House
After 0.3 mile turn left at the traffic lights into Colton Road
Continue on Colton Road as below...
Apiary from M1
Exit at M1 junction 46 A6120 Leeds East & A63 Selby (DO NOT EXIT at junction 45 A63)
Take the A6120 towards Leeds for 0.1 mile
Straight ahead at the first roundabout for 0.5 mile
Second left at the second roundabout signposted Halton and Temple Newsam House
After 0.3 mile turn left at the traffic lights into Colton Road
Continue on Colton Road as below...
Public Transport
If you are on public transport, take the 18 or 18A bus to the Brown Cow in Whitkirk, and you have a 15 to 20 minute walk,

Carry straight on for 0.6 mile until you reach the Gate House to Temple Newsam Estate.
Immediately after the Gate House, fork left
Carry straight on for 0.25 mile keeping left and dropping down into the lower car park
Please note that the road and car park are now unsurfaced
Park up on the left, alongside the 'Go Ape' tree challenges.
On Arrival At Temple Newsam
Head for the 'Go Ape' tree challenges.
Look out for the Leeds Beekeepers Association signs.
Take the walking path from the car park, highlighted in yellow below. Head downhill between the metal fence and Go Ape for around 50 metres, to a pair of full height green metal gates as shown below.
Please ensure the chain loop on the gate is completed so as to make it appear the gate is locked
Follow the path in the paddock, turn 1st left and head downhill towards the apiary (towards the oversized white beehive)
Look for our signs
Follow this path downhill from the car park. Go Ape is on the left and green metal fence is on the right.
Go through these green metal gates and follow the path in the paddock downhill to the apiary.
Winter Talks
Our winter talks and classroom sessions for the winter beekeeping course are held at the St Theresa’s Church ‘Newman Centre’, Station Road, Crossgates, Leeds , LS15 7JY.
The Newman Centre is located opposite Crossgates shopping centre. Free car parking is available onsite. Car park access is via a steep path between the church and the Newman Centre.
Public transport: Crossgates railway station is 3 minutes walk. Bus No. 40 stops outside the venue. Buses 56 and 64 stop on Crossgates Road close to the MECCA bingo which is 5 minutes walk away.
